ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Rusty
WHERE I COME FROM..
Let me tell you a little about myself. I’ve lived in Goodlettsville, Tennessee my whole life. I come from a hard-working family. My dad owned a drywall company and I guess I started sanding drywall when I was 10 years old just wanting to help and be with my dad. I went to Goodlettsville Elementary School and graduated from Goodlettsville High school in 1984. I now have two incredibly precious kids, and a wonderful woman by my side. Once I finished high school, I went to work full time for my dad’s drywall company. When my daddy got too old to handle things, I started to take the business over and continue to help pay the family bills. I still do some drywall jobs as well as build a few houses for people. My dad has passed on to be with the good Lord above, and I miss him every day.
A THRIVING CAREER
I worked for the Goodlettsville Fire department for over 20 years while doing drywall on the side. I loved being a firefighter and contributing to the community as a first responder. There is nothing I like more than being able to help people and I got to do that as a firefighter. When I retired from Goodlettsville Fire Department, I realized that I could make a big impact helping the community as a City Commissioner. That's when I decided to give it my all and was able to win 8 years ago. I have been able to help generate business for the city and serve the public from a different point of view. I still work my daily job throughout the week and solve problems for the city in the process. We have a lot of momentum to keep making things better such as the city traffic lights getting synchronized. I am running again in 2022 to continue my efforts. If you vote for me November 8th 2022 I plan to explore linking Moss-Wright Park with Mansker Park by greenway. Enhance Moss-Wright Park buildings by updating the quads and fields. I am as always committed to Public Safety; I want the Goodlettsville Fire Department and Police Department to keep pace with the increase in population. Get more aggressive about traffic and transportation matters exploring better ways to navigate throughout Goodlettsville.
